Do I really need a plumber for a simple vanity swap?

I'm updating our guest bathroom and thought I could handle most of it myself since I've done tile and paint before. The vanity swap seemed easy enough until I realized the old drain lines don't line up with the new sink and the shutoff valves are seized. Now I'm stuck with a half demolished bathroom and water shut off to the whole house. I started looking into plumbing services for kitchen and bath remodels in Palo Alto because I don't want to make things worse by guessing. But honestly I'm wondering if I even need a full remodel plumber for what feels like a small job. Did anyone here try to DIY their bathroom and end up calling someone anyway? How did you find a plumber who would take on a small project without charging a minimum that's more than the vanity cost? I'm not trying to be cheap but I also don't want to pay for a whole crew when it's just one sink. Any advice would be appreciated because my family is using the other bathroom and patience is running thin.
